We’re delighted to be able to connect you, as a mentor, directly with our explorers, other mentors like yourself and the Community Team. This is a new Community chat feature on the Prodigy pay mobile app.
Previously the mobile app was used primarily for repayment purposes, but now you are able to do more than just repayments. We’ve expanded our mobile app to also include an awesome new support function which connects our communities from around the world!
Here’s some terminology to be aware of:
Explorers |
Potential customers with no loan as yet and who are still researching funding options for their Masters studies. |
Candidates |
A candidate is someone who has begun their application and is at any stage in the loan application process prior to being disbursed. |
Students |
A student is someone who has a disbursed loan with us and is studying as a 1st or 2nd year masters student. |
Graduate |
This is a student who has now completed their studies (alumni) who are in their grace period or have begun repayment. |
Mentors |
Is a student who has agreed to join our mentorship program and to network on behalf of Prodigy Finance. |
Community mobile app usage

Through our mobile app, explorers, candidates and students will be able to reach out to you for insight into your study abroad experience in general and with Prodigy Finance.
On the mobile app, you can:
- Chat to interested explorers, candidates and students via the mobile app
- Engage with other mentors
- Chat directly with the Prodigy Finance Community Team
Getting started as a mentor
You can start by making sure you have the latest version of the app downloaded onto your device. This will be your primary point of contact with the Community Team, your fellow mentors, explorers, candidates and students. To get started please fill out this short questionnaire.

How long will it take to get feedback on my mentor application?
We will update you on the outcome, via email, confirming the outcome of your application within 2 - 4 business days from receipt of your application.
What do mentors do?
Network: Have the opportunity to network with a hub of mentors and professionals like yourself and receive guidance and marketing skills from our community team at Prodigy Finance to add to your resume.
Impact: Guide the next generation of students aspiring to study abroad by making a positive impact in prospective students' lives.
Grow: Nurture your skills and experience while contributing to the growth of those around you. And make friends along the way!

What mentors should not do
- Provide misleading information about Prodigy Finance
- Guide a student to complete an application fraudulently
- We encourage you to keep all conversations on the mobile app
- Not adhere to the T&C’s - Please refer to the mentor toolkit for guidelines to follow.
If you haven't responded to a query within 48 business hours , the Community Team will nudge you to respond or has the right to respond to those queries to maintain a high quality response rate.

What if I don’t know the answer to a question from a student?
We’ve got you! If you don’t know the answer, you can either reach out to the Community Team via the Prodigy Finance mobile app or direct explorers, candidates and students to our FAQs on the website.
What if I don’t want to be a mentor anymore?
Please email our mentors team on mentors@prodigyfinance.com who will assist you
with the de-registration process.It is important that you notify us if you are no longer
able to fulfill your role as a mentor so that we can ensure all explorers, candidates and students who require mentors are supported.
What if I want to take a break from being a mentor?
Reach out to mentors@prodigyfinance.com and let us know that you would like to take a break. We will pause your profile so that prospect can’t send you any messages. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to access the app to make repayments.
What do I do if I experience an issue with the Prodigy Finance mobile app
