Setting Up Auto-Debit with Prodigy Finance
Customers with an eligible bank account can now set up Auto-Debit – an automatic monthly payment feature, through the Prodigy Finance Repayment App.
You can now add and pay from bank accounts in the following currencies:

Each month, funds will be automatically debited from the customer’s account on their selected date, with no additional fees. This ensures timely payments and added peace of mind.
How to Set Up Auto-Debit (iOS/Android App)
- Log in to the Prodigy Finance app on iOS or Android.
- Tap “Pay”, then under “Auto-Debit”, select “Direct Debit.”
- Confirm the amount – the app will display the total amount due across all loans (automatically combined).
- Select a debit date between the 12th and the end of the month (The payment needs to reach Prodigy Finance by the 28th of every month. It takes about 5–8 days to process a payment, so make sure you select a date accordingly).
- Enter your bank account details and authorise the payment.
- A confirmation card will appear on the home screen, showing your active auto-debit, including the date and amount.
You’ll receive a reminder a few days before the funds are debited, giving you time to ensure sufficient funds are available.
Pausing Your Auto-Debit
Auto-debit can be paused for 1 to 3 months with no additional fees. During the pause, Prodigy Finance will not attempt to debit your account. Once the pause period ends, auto-debit resumes automatically.
⚠️ Important: Pausing auto-debit does not pause your monthly loan obligation. If your loan is not ahead of schedule, you must make your monthly payment using another payment method. Failure to do so may result in arrears and a negative impact on your credit score.
To Pause Auto-Debit:
- Tap “Edit Auto-Debit” on your dashboard.
- Select “Pause Auto-Debit.”
- Choose a pause duration (1–3 months) and a reason for pausing.
- Review the Auto-Debit Details and accept the T&Cs.
- Tap “Confirm and Pause.”
- A confirmation screen will appear once your auto-debit has been successfully paused.
Resuming Auto-Debit Manually
You can manually resume Auto-Debit at any point during the pause period.
To Resume:
- Tap “Edit Auto-Debit” on the dashboard.
- Click “Resume Auto-Debit” on the Auto-Debit Details page.
- A success screen will confirm that auto-debit has resumed.
If you do not resume it manually, your auto-debit will reactivate automatically once the pause duration ends.
Helpful Tips:
- It can take up to 10 days for the funds to reflect in Prodigy Finance’s account.
- When setting up Auto-Debit for the first time, be sure to authorise it by the end of the month to ensure it applies to your upcoming payment.
- Any changes to your Auto-Debit (pause, cancel, update) must be made before your selected debit date to apply for that month.
- Pausing auto-debit does not waive your monthly payment obligation unless your loan is ahead of schedule.
