Why are you pausing Spring 2027 applications?
Study-abroad conditions have shifted quickly over the last few weeks, including visa and policy changes across several destination countries. We're pausing Spring 2027 applications while we review what this means for our students and borrowers.
When will applications reopen?
This is a temporary pause, and we don't have a reopening date yet. We'll share updates on our website and by email as soon as we have them.
We understand it’s hard not to have a timeline, and we’re sorry for the uncertainty.
Does the pause apply to all countries, schools and courses?
Yes, this applies to all countries and schools. The pause covers Spring 2027 applications for every destination country, school and region.
What happens to my application now? Will it still be reviewed?
It depends on your stage. If we hadn't matched your application to funding, we've withdrawn it and won't review it further. If your loan is matched or approved, nothing changes and we'll keep processing it. Sign in to your account to see your status.
My program starts in January. What are my options?
We can't offer Spring 2027 funding right now, so we recommend acting early on these:
- Other lenders and scholarships. Check their deadlines now.
- Your school's financial aid office, which can advise on payment plans and school funding.
- Your school's admissions team, about moving your start date.
Why wasn’t I told sooner? I’ve already paid deposits or made plans based on your offer.
Conditions changed quickly over the last few weeks, and we paused applications in response to those changes. We're sorry for the disruption to your plans.
My tuition deadline is in a few weeks. Is there any way to get an exception?
Unfortunately we can't make exceptions to the pause for individual applications. Contact your school's financial aid or bursar's office now and ask about payment plans and deadline extensions. Other lenders may also be able to help.
I took my first loan with Prodigy Finance in 2026. Can I borrow again in 2027?
Yes. If your first loan with us was in 2026, you can apply for funding in 2027 as a returning borrower.* For new borrowers, we'll share updates on future intakes as soon as we have them. We can't guarantee funding or approval for any intake.
Can I keep my application on hold until you reopen?
No. We can't hold applications during the pause. If applications reopen, you'll need to submit a new application, which we'll assess against the funding and criteria at that time.*
Is my existing loan affected? Will my remaining disbursements still be paid?
No. Nothing changes for loans we've already committed to, including current Fall 2026 loans and remaining disbursements. We continue to process and honour them. The pause covers new Spring 2027 applications only.
