We’ve made applying with Prodigy Finance even easier.
These guides will walk you through each stage so you know exactly what to expect. The application process is completed online and includes a few simple steps to help us understand your academic background, financial profile, and funding needs.
Let's get started!
Start by entering your school details to confirm it’s supported. Then follow a few simple steps to check your eligibility. The application takes about 10 minutes, and if eligible, you’ll receive a provisional offer instantly or within 2 business days.
Click “Apply now”, create your account, and verify your email.
Check your eligibility
You’ll begin by:
- Entering a referral code (if you have one) Don’t worry, you can still continue if you don’t have one. You can find more information about referral codes here.
- Next, you’ll tell us about your study plans. Select your school, course, and intake period. This is where we check if your school and course are supported.
If your school and programme are supported, you’ll see a confirmation screen and be able to continue with the application
If your school or course doesn’t appear in the list, it means we’re not currently able to support that programme.
Provide your personal details
In the next step, we’ll get to know you a little better. You’ll be asked to provide a few basic personal details, including:
- Your full name
- Your date of birth
- Your gender
- Your citizenship
This step is quick to complete and helps move your application forward.
Residential information and parent or guardian details
Next, you’ll need to enter your current address and your parent or guardian’s contact details.
- Current address: Please provide your current residential address.
- Parent or guardian contact details: We’ll ask for the contact details of a parent or guardian for verification purposes. Please note that they will not be responsible for your loan.
Please ensure all information is accurate and matches your official documents. Once you’ve completed this step, you’ll be eligible to move on to the next stage of your application.
Education and test scores
We’ll ask for more information about your education and any admission or proficiency tests you may have taken.
- As part of your application, you may be asked to enter a standardised test score, such as a GMAT, GRE, or equivalent. Don’t worry, you don’t need to take a separate test specifically for Prodigy Finance.
- No test score? Simply select “No” and continue with your application. Depending on your programme and individual circumstances, you may still be eligible to apply. Some students may also choose to take an approved test before applying to help present a more complete application profile.
- Have a test score? You can enter it now, and we may ask for supporting documents later during the verification process.
All applications are subject to a full assessment and verification process. Approval isn’t guaranteed, as decisions are based on multiple eligibility criteria.
Employment information
We’ll ask whether you have any work experience. If you do, you’ll need to provide details about your most recent role, including:
- Employer name (if your employer name is not available, you can simply type it out)
- Country of employment
- Employment duration
- Salary information
If you’ve never worked before, you can continue your application without employment history and simply select “No”.
Complete declarations and credit verification
As part of the application process, you’ll be asked to declare whether you have:
- Previous loan if any
- Defaults
- Declared bankruptcy
- Criminal records
If you answer “Yes” to any of these questions, you’ll be asked to provide additional information.
You’ll also be guided through a secure credit verification process through Experian. In most cases, your credit report will be retrieved automatically, and you won’t need to upload any documents manually.
If we’re unable to retrieve your report automatically, we may ask you to upload a PDF copy for review.
If successful, you’ll receive a conditional approval based on the information you have provided, as shown below, and you can continue with your application.
Receive a conditional provisional offer
Once your credit verification has been completed successfully, you may receive a conditional provisional offer to confirm what you are eligible for.
Your provisional offer will include:
- Your estimated loan amount
- Available loan terms
- Estimated interest rates
- Estimated monthly repayments
A provisional offer is conditional and subject to verification and final assessment.
Confirm other sourcing of funding
To continue with your application, we’ll ask if you have any additional support for your tuition, such as a scholarship or sponsorship.
If you don’t have any additional funding, you can indicate this in your application by selecting “I don’t have other support”.
This step helps us understand your funding situation.
Deposit Financing
We’ll also ask for some details about your tuition deposit. If your school requires a deposit, you’ll still need to pay this directly to the school.
However, depending on your eligibility, you may be able to request funding for up to the amount of the deposit paid to the school on your loan as part of your living expenses.
- If your school requires a deposit, we’ll show the required amount during your application.
- If your school does not require a deposit, you can continue to the next step
Any approved amount up to your deposit amount will be paid according to your scheduled disbursement plan.
Choose how your funds are split
With our new application process, you’ll be able to choose how your funds are allocated across tuition, living expenses, and any eligible deposit refund. You’ll also need to confirm if you’ve already paid your deposit.
- You can select up to USD 5,000 for your first tuition payment.
- For living expenses and deposit amounts, a minimum of USD 1,000 is required.
You also need to let us know if you’ve already paid your deposit. Once you’ve completed this step, you’ll receive your provisional offer.
View your provisional offer
Once you reach this stage, you’re eligible for a Prodigy Finance loan.
You’ll be able to view your provisional offer, which gives you a clear breakdown of your loan, including:
- Your total loan amount
- Your interest rate
- Your estimated monthly repayments
- The total cost of your loan, including any applicable fees
You’ll also be able to choose from different loan term options (for example, 7, 10, or 15 years). Adjusting the term will change both your monthly repayments and the overall cost of your loan, so you can choose what works best for you.
Please note that a provisional offer is not a final offer and may change following full assessment and verification.
Final review
All applications are subject to verification and a full assessment process. Approval isn’t guaranteed, as decisions are based on multiple eligibility and affordability criteria.
Please note that a provisional offer is not a final offer and may change following full assessment and verification.
Common Questions
Will my new offer be the same as my previous one?
Not necessarily. Each application is assessed individually based on your latest information, credit assessment, and current lending criteria. This means your new offer may differ from your previous provisional offer.
