Understanding whether you may be eligible for a loan can be daunting, here are some quick facts to help you before submitting an application:
What are our basic requirements
Prodigy Finance is founded on the philosophy that funding shouldn't be a barrier to education and our credit assessment is forward looking, and includes elements such as pre-study salary, university acceptance and future income, to ensure individual loan affordability whilst removing the need for collateral, co-signers or guarantors.
We have three basic requirements to help us determine if you're eligible for a Prodigy Finance loan (subject to affordability check):
- You must be admitted to a school and programme we support.
- We support an extensive list of schools which can be found on our website.
- Remember, you can apply for a quote before you have an admittance letter - we'll only ask for proof of admission when we finalize your loan.
- You must be looking to study abroad
- You must reside in one of the countries we support.
- You can find a list of countries we can't support here.
If you meet these 3 criteria, you can complete a quick online application to get a quote. In most cases, you'll receive your quote immediately. It will include the amount you qualify for, the interest rate, loan term, and any fees that will apply.
Are there any exemptions?
There are some exceptions which all depend on where you live when you apply and where you plan to study:
If you are currently living in the country you want to study in:
- Attending a US School: We can provide funding to students who reside in the US, US citizens and international students who reside outside of the US.
- Attending a UK School: We can provide funding for those who reside in the UK, are UK citizens and international students who reside outside of the UK.
- Attending a school in France: We cannot provide funding to students who reside in France and who simultaneously plan to attend a University located in France.
- Attending a school in the Rest of the World: We can provide funding to students who have lived (or worked) in their study country for less than 90 days leading up to their studies, and do not consider their study country as “Home”. This includes the Canadian provinces and territories that we support but excludes the country France.
If your school is located in one of the following US states, you may not be eligible for funding:
- Rhode Island, Vermont.
